PACE Communications History
By Cindy Flowers
In February of 2002 the PACE Communications Committee was born. The objective of the committee was to see that all professional and classified employees at CSI were informed about all the happenings at CSI. Many classified employees were and still are without computer access making it difficult to communicate with those people by our standard means of e-mail communication. It is our hope that until the day this can be remedied office specialists will make the newsletter available to those in their respective areas who do not have computer access.
The communications committee started a newsletter and sent it out campus wide via e-mail and interoffice mail. Since April of 2002 to the present we have sent out 25 newsletters informing the staff of the goings-on of PACE and other campus events. The newsletter includes an article written by the President and a meet-and-greet section including photos and bios for newly hired employees. The newsletter reports on all of the WOWS given out to employees for going the extra mile. Cindy Flowers was the editor of the PACE newsletter from 2002-2004. The current editor is Ann Keane.
Created also by the committee was the PACE website. The website was created for easy access to information about PACE. From the website you are able to access every copy of the newsletter, read meeting minutes, read the by-laws, nominate and vote around election time, and read about what is currently happening with PACE such as upcoming trainings. Monthly WOW lists are available on the website along with employee of the year winners. Plans are underway for a newly designed website to be presented to our viewing public in December, 2005. The new color scheme and design were implemented by RD Van Noy. Ann Keane provided some input on the site layout. Contributing to the various histories were Cindy Flowers, Kat Powell, Joyce Moore, Shannon Palmer and Tina Standlee.
